American soldiers inspect a destroyed German convoy West of Sainteny. In the foreground, the bodies of three German soldiers of the Fallschirmjäger-Regiment 6. In the background there is a Volkswagen Type 166 "Schwimmwagen". At side two American soldiers of the 4th Infantry Division including one wearing an arm-band of the Red Cross. July 16th, 1944.

Fahnenjunker-Oberfeldwebel MANFRED BÜTTNER (15.02.1921 - 29.05.1992), unconfirmed Knight's Cross award on April 28, 1945. Company leader in FJR 26/9. Fallschirmjäger-Division. After the war Hauptmann (Captain) in the Bundeswehr. Retired in 1971. (Bundesarchiv Bild 146-1992-018-25A)
