Joachim von Ribbentrop as German Minister to the Court of St James.  As Hitler's ambassador to the UK, it was Ribbentrop's explicit charge to cultivate British favour for the Nazi régime and (discreetly) to develop "friendship links" with prominent members of British society already disposed to favour National Socialism and its agenda.  Unfortunately, his character and behavior were such as to produce absolutely counterproductive effects.

In this 'photo, Ribbentrop wears his Iron Cross, First Class and Wound Badge in Black, earned during WW1, on his evening coat.  When I think of it, that might not have been terribly diplomatic, either, in the circumstances ... Best regards, JR.
