Kaltenbrunner

In 2001 the personal Nazi Security seal of Kaltenbrunner was found in an Alpin lake by a Dutch citizen on vacation.The seal has the words'Chef der Sicherheitspolizei und des SD' engraved on it.Experts examined the seal and came to the conclusion that it was thrown away in the last days of the war in may1945. If indeed it was Kaltenbrunner himself who threw the seal away,56 years before, in order to hide his identity,it was one of his last acts as a free man.He gave himself up claiming to be a doctor and giving a false name. He was however spotted by his mistress .She called out his name and rushed up to him to hug him.So his true identity was revealed,resulting in his arrest,trial and ultimately his execution.
