Meeting (or Absence) of Minds ?

A bored-looking Heinrich Himmler, Reichsfuhrer-SS, and Hans Frank, Governor-General of the Government-General of Poland, share dinner in the course of a visit of the former to the latter. Frank can hardly have been satisfied with his relationship with his visitor. Not only was his territory of responsibility riddled with SS operations beyond his control (such as Operation Reinhard), but his own administration was riddled with SS officers whose loyalty might be suspected to lie more with Himmler than with Frank. Perhaps fortunately for Frank, the SS elements in the administration of the Government-General seemed to have no difficulty in prosecuting feuds with the Gestapo/SD/Polizei elements - a tribute, perhaps, to the success of the general Nazi administrative principle of divide and rule. Best regards, JR.
