Another photo of German troops somewhere east.I don't think the soldiers in white are guards of the Russian pow's.Either they are a group preparing for action or they are going through left behind Russian material.But I'm just guessing since no info is available on this photo

I came upon a series of 'German troops on the Eastern front' related photo's on fb but alas without any comments.This photo shows a (?) mortar crew but I'm unable to recognise the type.Has anyone an idea of the kind of weapon on this photo?Thanks ;)

Eastern front

"Fire at will!" Men of the Leibstandarte is hammering away with their Schwere Grantwerfer 34's. Note the smoking barrel on the rear weapon. The loader is about to drop his second round. In total the crew closest to the camera has 8 boxes of 3 rounds available. Also of interest is the white disc visible on the end of the tail, just above the fins. That is an extra charge for targets too far away for the standard charge.
 The legs are stabilized by the crew during firing.
