The problem that occured every spring and autumn during the russian-german war. The roadways consisted of knee-deep mud. The two german soldiers weigh down the rear of the car to help getting through. Russia, autumn 1941.

German soldier fixed themselves these huge shoes of straw for protection from the cold. The boots were worn over the regular high leather boots. Of course they were totally unusable for combat action.
