Changing a belt on the MG42. When used from the Lafette tripod, the MG42 is very accurate. The Lafette tripod is an exceptionally stable platform, with fingertip gunners' control to smoothly swivel the weapon in a scything-like action. We tend to think of MG42 used from the bipod (where the weapon is good), but when used from a tripod or hardstand mount, MG42 becomes the horrifying killing machine that fits its legend.
