German Order Police (note the "eagle's head" long police bayonet worn by the man in the foreground) descend to the basement in search of hidden valuables, Jewish Ghetto, (Lodz, Poland ?) 1940.  This sort of activity was typical of early German operations in newly-formed Jewish ghettos in Poland.  Later, the Jews would have much worse to put up with ... JR.
