Pre-panzer.

German Forces

Pre-panzer.

Unknown author.

A late-1920s/early '30s German "tank" or, more accurately, an "armoured car" consisting of a civilian motor car fitted with cardboard armour. These were designed to accord with treaty restrictions that denied Germany proper armoured vehicles, and were used in training. The Reichwehr were severely limited as regards numbers and equipment in the "Versailles" period - but they consistently pushed against these restrictions as far as they could. Best regards, JR.
