The Drohobycz ghetto and labour camp were the scenes for a number of "deportations" and mass shootings of varying scale, exercised by German security forces, between 1941.  Jews in the ghetto/camp initially thought that they were relatively safe, as their labour was employed in the essential oil industry.  However, in the end, almost all were shot in "special operations" or deported for murder elsewhere.  JR.

Soviet PoWs at the Drohobycz Camp, probably 1941'42.  In Drohobycz, the German Police and Security authorities were mainly concerned with controlling a Jewish ghetto in the city, and a forced labour camp close by.  Most of the detainees were Jewish (the city had been a major Jewish centre before the war), but other standard victims were also drawn in.  JR
