German POW with Pet Puppy - US001215  - Stock Photo - Corbis. 21-year old prisoner of war Wolf Dietrick Setzerfand, from Ehrfurt, Germany, brought a black fox terrier, "Ko", with him to detention camp in Virginia. He found the dog in Libya during the Africa campaign. Captured in Tunisia, he was a one-year army veteran who wore the ribbon of the 2nd class Iron Cross.
