German soldiers photographed on a muddy  road.  The oberfeldwebel (center photo, with cigarette)has the hanging cord for marksmanship on the right side of his jacket.  Wearing the cord is unusual because, first, these cords were not worn on a field uniform, and secondly, by the start of the war with the Soviet Union  this type of cord and wearing them was dropped.Photo taken in the East.
