Major Meinrad von Lauchert (RKT) of Panzer Regiment 35 with teddy bear, recalling the "bear regiment's" rampant bear emblem. Von Lauchert subsequently rose to the rank of Generalmajor, commander of the 2nd Panzer Division in the Battle of the Bulge and after, and was awarded the Oak Leaves to his Knight's Cross in 1944.
