On a farm called' Van Der Vennet' three civilians were executed .On the photo , neighbours  are digging graves for the executed,under German guard.This also happened on may 27 1940.A reason for this execution was never found.

On another post'Burning house',komandos10  says that pictures from 1939 Poland are more dramatic than those of other countries,like Belgium to name one.I do have much respect for the great suffering of the Polish people during WW2 but let me show in the few next photos that drama was everywhere and that even though these unknown  or forgotten 'Faits divers' left scars for those involved that lasted the rest of their lives.In war everyone suffers.
Photo1:27 may 1940 in Vinkt(Meigem Belgium),The family Vermeulen,lying on the grond,surrounded by Germans.They were taken from the cellar they were hiding in from the ongoing battle.Later that day ,father Vermeulen and his son Aimée(in the foreground with the hat)were mudered by the Germans.In total on the 27 may 1940 in the little place Vinkt,111 civilians died either by the German artillery or by execution.Greetz,Brummbar

Drama in Belgium 1940

On monday 27 may 1940 the Germans occupied several farms and crossroads in  a little place called Vinkt.Several groups of civilians were executed by those German troops.Near a house called 'Zwart Huizeken'(=Little black house),12 civilians were executed and buried in a mass grave.In 2010 the bullit holes in the wall still bear witness of this atrocity.There were 1000's of little places like this in the countries engulved by WW2,1000's of dramatic events.Never to be forgotten.
