In the Russian Town of Cherkassy, two German Soldiers have been buried in hastily dug graves. The Sunflowers decorating the graves, would seem to indicate that there had been a strong bond between those who decorated the grave, and those who lie in them. (scanned by HOS Bandit)

Usually when I post a photo, whatever caption I include came from the book. However, the one that went with this photo failed to give the photo justice. This young soldier, absorbed in a book. trying to distance himself from his daily reality, if only for a brief moment. Was it a collection of short poems? Perhaps a book by Traki..Or that tome by Schiller, he promised father he'd read. It could even have been some swill by Darre, Blut und Boden, that he was reading for secret amusement. Whatever the case may have been, whatever book he was using as a vehicle of escape, I hope that it worked. (scanned by HOS Bandit)
