Moscow Miracle

The Wehrmact advance, which had swallowed up 100s of miles of Soviet territory in the summer of 1941, began to falter in the autumn.By the Winter of 1942 the Germans were retreating from positions they had gained on the outskirts of Moscow, and were accumulating casualties from the weather as well as the combat.
