Death card of two brothers from Lower Bavaria. Benno, who served in the infantry, was killed on September 17, 1939 near Radymno/Poland aged 22. His brother Franz Xaver (Gebirgsjäger, mountain trooper) died on February 23, 1943 in the Caucasus mountains/Soviet Union at the age of 19.

Soldiers of the (elite) Panzer-Lehr-Division, on their way to St-Lô, in June 1944. The soldiers were maybe travelling at the back of a Sd.Kfz. 251. The town of Saint-Lô was an important communications and transportation hub in Normandy and as such became an important objective for US forces operating in the western half of the Normandy beachhead.
