Punishment for death camp Auschwitz Birkenau, German Nazi Concentration and Extermination Camp (1940-1945) located in occupied Poland. Victims were tortured and murdered including major victims 960000 Jews and 75000 Poles. Innocent civilians, pows. On the photo Poles leading German Nazi war criminal Rudolf Hoess to the gallows. Execution made 1947 in the area of camp. Hoess was SS-Obersturmbannführer and commander of the Auschwitz camp. Allies captured Hoess and gift to Poles. Poles started in Warsaw trial and decided to punish Rudolf Höß death.
