SS-Standartenführer (Colonel) Leon Degrelle (born 1906 in Belgium, died 1994 in Spain). Holder of the Knight's Cross and the Close Combat Clasp in Gold. Commander of the SS-Freiwilligen-Brigade &quot;Wallonie&quot;. After the war he escaped to Spain to build up a new existence, in absence condemned to death penalty in his homeland Belgium because of high treason in December 1945.

SS-Obergruppenführer (General) Herbert Otto Gille (1897-1966), Commander of the 5th SS-Panzer-Division &quot;Wiking&quot;, the first all-European unit to fight against bolshevism. Gille was awarded the Knight's Cross with oakleaves, swords and diamonds as the 12th German soldier. Detained in the so-called War-Criminal camp in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen until June 1946, released from war captivity in May 1948. Long after the war Gille still publicized the notion that his Wiking-Division fought to protect the occident from the nihilistic collectivism.
