Two german soldiers take a nap on the back of a horse cart during the german advance into Russia. The left one is a Gefreiter (one chevron of rank, lance corporal), the other one an Obergefreiter (two chevrons of rank, senior lance corporal). The edge of the shoulder straps are in red what most probably makes them part of an artillery unit.
