German Armored Forces & Vehicles
Bernd Peitz
Freshly arrived from Naples, a Major and two Leutnants wait for the order to start the parade along the Corso Sicilia, one of Tripoli's main arteries. Ferried in a haste, the German Panzers of Panzer-Regiment 5 arrived in Africa still wearing their European dark grey camouflage paint, as well as their old unit's insignia (the yellow inverted 'Y' of 3. Panzer-Division). Together with other units, Panzer-Regiment 5 was now part of a new formation, the 5. Leichte Division, named thus on February 18, 1941.
