Oberst von Huenersdorff, CO of 11th Pz.Regt. - and
of the division from February to July 1943- holds a
front-line orders group during a January 1943 attack
on the Soviet position known as 'Rabbit Farm'. During
the costly fighting between the Don and the Donets
that winter von Huenersdorff commanded an armored
battle-group of 6th and 7th Pz.Divs. and Army
reserve assault artillery units.

Photo undated-no caption. My first thought when seeing this photo was to wonder if the two KIA were friends or crew-members of the panzer trooper.
