Tirana airfield, January 1941: crewmen of a Luftwaffe’s Ju 52 check the airplane before the return flight to Southern Italy. A number of German Ju 52, based at Foggia, Apulia, was committed to reinforce the airlift from Italy to Albania for transport of Italian troops and supplies in support of the Italian Army in the hard winter operations against the Greece. During the return trip the Ju 52 and the Italian transport planes accomplished many wounded evacuation operations. Victor Sierra
