Oberst (Colonel) Walter Sigel (1906-1944), KC with oak leaves on September 2, 1942 as comander of Stuka-Geschwader 3. He died on May 8, 1944 when he crashed with his Fieseler Storch into the Trondheimfjord/Norway. Walter Sigel rests on the German military cemetery at Byaasen / Trondheim-Havstein (row 6, grave 5).
