Sadly, no 'official' info was available about this photo. What I can make of it is that the sign in French and the architecture suggests that this is probably either Northern France or Belgium. As for the airplane, both the tail and the small bulge in the fuselage immediately behind the passengers seat are identical to those of a Gotha Go 145 biplane, a two-seat basic/gunnery trainer. The light, one color scheme of the airplane also suggests that this was a training or liaison aircraft.
