Hi Huijgens! Another innovative German design. The Me P.1101 was a single-seat, single-engine jet fighter developed in July 1944. A special feature was Variable-Sweep wings which could be adjusted on the ground prior to flight. This was the fore -runner of the General Dynamics F-111, the F-14 'Tomcat' and other sweep aircraft. There was only one proto-type built and this was captured by American forces and shipped back to the USA. Although it was in a very damaged condition, it was the subject of much investigation and resulting trials. This airframe unfortunately was scrapped in the early 1950's ! (The Colonel)
