Sergent Marcel Bizien, 23, commanded the 2nd DB "Douamont" Sherman that rammed the Panther on Place de la Concorde, Aug 25th 1944. He was killed by a sniper when he leaned out of his tank's turret (or jumped on the wrecked Panther according to diff. accounts) to direct the manoeuvre required to disengage his tank. He'd joined to Free French in London after escaping to the UK via Spain and Portugal in 1941.
