Lieutenant Sarvimäki receiving first aid after he was wounded along with all other officers of Gunboat Uusimaa, on July 4, 1944, during the Battle of Vyborg Bay. The captain was killed and as the second-in-command, Lt. Sarvimäki led the damaged gunboat away from the battle.
