Lt. Jorma "Zamba" Sarvanto (1912-1963) in the cockpit of his Brewster on airfield at Utti. June 24, 1941. Jorma Kalevi Sarvanto was Finnish Airforce fighter ace with 17 aerial victories, top scoring Fokker D.XXI pilot and top scoring ace of the Winter War. He flew the Fokker D.XXI in the Winter War shooting down 13 aircraft from which 6 in same battle, in less than 5 minutes. During the Continuation War (1941-1944) he flew Brewster B-239 but was promoted to captain and appointed to several different staff and command duties, giving him less chances to get to fly. He however scored 4 more kills during the war. During the wars Sarvanto flew a total of 255 sorties.
