The lodge was gift from his division for his 50th birthday and it also became his command post because it was located close to the front. 

His wife Sylvia seems to have been a member of "Lotta Svärd" organization as she's wearing the uniform.

Major general Raappana with his son Ermo who has just returned to Finland and is visiting his father at his hunting lodge near Rukajärvi. June 2, 1943. 
Ermo Juhani Raappana (1921-1997) fought already in the Winter War, decided to enlist to the Finnish SS volunteer battalion in 1941, and served in it until it was disbanded in 1943. He then went back to Finnish Army service.

Paavo "Pete" Berg (1911–1941) flew 100 missions achieving 10.5 aerial victories.

Served in LeLv 26 during the Winter War and shot down 5 enemy aircraft with his Gloster Gladiator Mk II. In Continuation War he served in LeLv 32 and achieved 5.5 aerial victories with his Curtiss P-36 Hawk. He was killed in action on November 1, 1941, when his plane was shot down at Hanko peninsula.
