Some 7 captured Soviet Pe-2's was bought from Germany during the war. These planes were only used in reconnaissance missions and saw little use in the Finnish airforce, with only 94 flight hours during the entire war.

Finnish infantry in the extra military exercises which started in October 1939, and were part of mobilization of Finnish troops and preparing for possible war. At the end of the following month, on November 30, The Winter War began as the Soviets invaded Finland.
