Puro scored his first 2 victories in 1942 flying captured Soviet I-153 and in 1943 he was transferred to other squadron where he flew the Brewster and downed 5 1/2 enemy aircraft. in April 1944 the squadron switched to Messerschmitt Bf 109G and Lt. Puro achieved 29 1/2 aerial victories during the summer of 1944 flying the plane type.

Olavi "Olli" Puro

Olli Puhakka(1916-1989) was a Finnish fighter ace of WWII and Knight of the Mannerheim Cross number 175. He became ace already in the Winter War after scoring 4 aerial victories with Fokker D.XXI and 1 1/2 with Fiat G.50. In Continuation War he downed 11 1/2 Soviet aircraft with his Fiat G.50 and later 25 more with his Messerschmitt Bf 109G. Puhakka is also known to have downed atleast one aircraft without firing a shot, doing this with damaged Fiat G.50.

Olli Puhakka

Kyösti Karhila(1921–2009) flew Curtiss P-36 Hawk between 1941-'43 and achieved 13 aerial victories with it untill 1943 when he was moved to different squadron which flew the just arrived Messerschmitts. Karhila shot down 19 more enemy aircraft flying the Bf 109.
