This photo shows a sniper team with a scoped Moisin Nagant rifle and a Suomi M31 submachinegun.  Both weapons used for sniper service.  Simo Hayha may have used the Suomi for more kills than his rifle.  An excellent weapon accurate at ranges beyond normal submachinegun use.
