Tank destroyer

Corporal J. Rytöniemi who fought excelling among 3rd Brigade in the battle of Tammisuo. He has a Finnish tank destruction badge with 3 additional stripes on his right arm telling about the 11 enemy tanks he destroyed within week. Rytöniemi was awarded the mannerheim cross for his merits in December 1944. The only one who reached the highest Finnish tank destruction decoration the badge with 4 stripes, was Corporal Toivo Ilomäki with his record of 21 destroyed tanks from which 17 in same battle. He became the Knight of the Mannerheim Cross no.155 on October 2, 1944.
