A 15th Air Force’s B-24 Liberator in flames completely destroyed by the crash and by the post-crash fire on a Southern Italy airfield. Question: how many fatalities? Answer: none! Extraordinary: when the plane's fuel tanks, containing 100 octane gasoline exploded, the emergency crews could do nothing to save the plane, but worked only to prevent the spread of the fire and rushed up and pulled the plane's crew to safety.
