Maria Dolina flew seventy-two missions bombing enemy ammunition depots, strongpoints, tanks, artillery batteries, rail and water transports, and supporting Soviet ground troops. On August 18, 1945 Dolina was awarded the title of the Hero of the Soviet Union.
