Helmut Fickel was a highly decorated Stuka pilot and a Oberleutnant in the Luftwaffe during World War II and a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross He was awarded with the Knight´s Cross by Rudel, on June 9th, 1944.. During his career he flew 800 missions.Helmut Fickel was captured by British troops in May 1945.
