Major E. 'Davie' Fulton was DAAG for 1st Canadian Infantry Division, and later Minister of Justice in Diefenbaker Government, and responsible for coordinating the move of 1CID from Italian theatre to Northwestern Europe theatre in the spring of 1945. On his left is Pte. C.J. (Bud) Fessler, his driver. The third soldier is J. Marshall. All three were members of the Seaforth Highlanders of Canada. Following the war, Fulton would bring Fessler to work with him in Ottawa.
