Dawn...another day

Closely guarded by a Canadian soldier, a despondent German officer sits with his head in his hands after being captured south of Caen, France during the Goodwood operation. Between D-Day and the 25th of July, the Canadian and British troops took approximately 11,500 German prisoners.
