Here is an unusual photo of Canadian guards and a German Guard during the German surrender... I wonder who was most uncomfortable.. the armed Canadians or the armed German Guard ?  Privates W.R. Hill and M.A. Gammon of 1st Canadian Corps on guard duty with a German soldier, also on guard duty, at the German garrison, Ijmuiden, Netherlands, 11 May 1945.

Personnel of The Regina Rifle Regiment, Vaucelles, France, 23 July 1944. (L-R): Riflemen I.L. Jackson and E.A. Locke, Lance-Corporal L.H. Easterly, Corporal E.H. Scott.  Corporal Easterly was killed in action 5 days later on July 28.  Corporal Scott was killed in action on the 14th of October, 1944
