Unidentified personnel of the cruiser H.M.C.S. UGANDA setting shell fuses before the bombardment of Truk, Caroline Islands, 23 June 1945. This ship gained a level of infamy in Canada when it's crew voted themselves out of the Second World War. Canadian service men when volunteering were enlisting to fight the war in Europe. When the Germans surrendered, they were then asked to volunteer to fight Japan, the crew of the Uganda took a vote and the majority decided not to re-enlist and as a result the ship was sent home to Canada.
