Tage Agerbak leaves to meet his fate

The last photo of Tage Agerbak, taken by his wife as he left for duty with the Winnipeg Grenadiers. Tage was killed in action in The Battle of Hong Kong. First listed as missing in action, investigation found that he was murdered by the Japanese along with the Mitchell brothers. The Mitchell brothers were Lt. William Mitchell and Lt. Eric Mitchell of Winnipeg. Tage and one of the Mitchells were badly wounded and unable to retreat with the rest of their men as the Japanese closed in on them. The uninjured Mitchell brother stayed with his brother and his wounded comrades to see that they were treated properly. Records indicate that they were bayonetted and then their bodies burned.
