My Great-grandfather, William (Bill) Lucas, served in the Canadian army. He was injured in France in September of 1944. He never fully regained use of his right arm. He is seen here, still in the hospital, reading the headlines "Germany Surrenders".

End of the War!

German prisoners help carry a wounded Calgary Highlander during the Battle of Wyler, 8 February, 1945.  Prisoners were often used this way by both sides.

This is the same Bill Lucas featured in the previous photo. Not much known about this particular photo, but it is presumed taken around 1943. This was taken before his injury in France.
