Canadian Daimler Reconnaissance code named &quot;HUNTER&quot; lies abandoned on the Dieppe beach after Canadian raid on Dieppe in August, 1942.  The raid was called &quot;Operation Jubilee&quot;.  The Canadians suffered 3000 casualties that day.  These men lept off the landing craft that day, into withering machine gun and artillery fire as the British planners decided that no bombardment of German defenders was needed.
