Ammo check

fbbrummbar

A British Second World War tank crew check over belted 7.92mm ammunition for their BESA machine gun. Unprotected ammunition like this was easily damaged and so had to be carefully checked as a misfire in combat could lead to the destruction of the tank and the death of the crew. The cloth belts were reuseable and so also had to be checked for damage from previous firings. Once they have finished the ammunition will be boxed to protect it and stowed in their tank. taken from fb/The Tank Museum (Bovington Camp, Dorset, United Kingdom)
