The remains of a Heinkel 111 brought down on the English south-east coast, on July 13, 1940. The aircraft is riddled with bullet holes and its machine guns were twisted out of action.

Shoot down at Dunkirk during the evacuation. Stephenson avoided capture for eleven days, but eventually became a POW for the remainder of the war. He was killed in a flight accident in 1955.
