Northern Italy, beyond Ferrara, 28 April 1945, few days before the surrender of the German Forces in Italy: British Eighth Army traffic crossing the first pontoon Bailey bridge constructed by the Royal Engineers over the River Po, alongside the previous iron bridge destroyed by the Allied air tactical raids, visible in background.
