In war every bit of illusion can help in tricking the enemy.Everybody knows photos like this.By accident I stumbled on the story of a man who,if he had been around at the time of WW2 would have been a great asset in the tricks departement.It's not exactly WW2 related(I hope the admins forgive me ) but  ... well see for yourself :)

Real or fake?

HMS Illustrious under fire while on Malta convoy.  Taken from my fathers photo album.  The Illustrious (aircraft carrier) was part of a convoy to relieve Malta at the time.  My father was Canadian, raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan who was living in Sheffield when the war broke out.  He joined the British Royal Marines at age 17 and was 18 when he completed training at Stonehouse Barracks in Plymouth.  The Germans almost sank the Illustrious in this action.
