This is an Archer self-propelled anti-tank gun of the British XXX Corps. The Archer was, in essence, the superb 17 pdr. anti-tank gun, on the hull of the obselete Valentine Infantry Tank. This photo was taken during Operation Market-Garden, as XXX Corps was attempting their linkup  with the British 1st Airborne Division. (scanned by HOS Bandit)

Here he is when in the British Army of the Rhine occupation army. He was a military warder at this time and once guarded Rudolph Hess. Not sure a stepfather qualifies as an ancestor, in fact of course he does'nt.
This Staff Sgt., in the M.P.S.C., was a great recruiting tool,FOR THE NAVY!

My Stepfather
