HMS Grenville was sunk by a mine in the North Sea on 21st January 1940. The ship was lost with 81 of her crew; the rest were picked up by other ships in the area. The figure pictured clinging to the porthole is A. B. Bromfield the last sailor to leave the ship. HMS Grenville had a complement of 175 and a displacement of 1,485 tons.

The german &quot;kleines kettenkrad&quot; (small halftrack motorbike), type NSU HK-101, Sd.Kfz. 2, was very popular by the opponents too. Here's a group of british soldiers somewhere in North Africa on a captured Kettenkrad which still bears the markings of the german 3rd squadron, Kradschützen-Bataillon 55 (infantry on motorbikes) of the 5th Panzer-Division.
